Ripstix Sticker - Forehand Snap

This new updated site is a continuation of what I started 15 years ago with my first internet site, Ripstix.com.au. Basically, Ripstix was a virtual brochure of what my on-the-beach coaching business was, and a link to everything I was doing at that time. Ripstix was the name of my first commercial product, a pack of technique stickers that you placed individually onto the nose of your surfboard so that you could view them while in the surf. They worked well, keeping the surfer’s mind focused on improving the selected surfing skill, but being under-capitalised and being totally new in the surfing market, it didn’t take off commercially in any meaningful way.

As the internet became more mainstream, and more important in everyone’s daily life, I saw the need to change and move forward with the internet. In the late nineties, my face-to-face coaching and coaching camps were starting to generate good interest, and from those coaching experiences, I had produced 4x training videos, and over 30 training cards. These I packaged into products to sell and distribute through my new site, Surfcoach.com. I wanted to share ideas and information that I found worked in my coaching programs through these products, and to help surfers who I most likely would never meet, let alone coach individually. The feedback from surfers has been extremely positive over the years, and has encouraged me to maintain my interest in creating new products and services through the internet medium.

Now with the launch of the new Surfcoach.com, I feel that a new chapter is about to begin. I have created new how-to and how-to-train content, which can be viewed and accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This will allow surfers, parents, and coaches the ability to visualize new skills, learn how to train these skills, and understand the theory of surfing and how it applies to their performances. And the beauty of all this is, that no matter what a surfer’s skill level is right now, or where in the world they might live, they are only a few clicks away from accessing all this advice. Surfing advice that has been honed through coaching surfers of all levels for the past 25 years.

My coaching ethos, has always been “to help surfers reach their surfing potential”, no matter what level of surfing performance I am working with. This site is a reflection of that attitude, and I know that surfers, who sign up for any of the packages it offered, will gain the knowledge to take their surfing to higher and more enjoyable surfing performances.
